Instructional Assistant - Transitional Kinder (TK)

Requirements

• Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year of experience working with children in an organized educational or child care environment
• Ability to speak a second designated language (for some positions)
• Knowledge of basic subjects taught in District schools, including arithmetic, grammar, spelling, language and reading
• Knowledge of basic instructional methods and techniques
• Classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct
• Child guidance principles and practices
• Safe practices in classroom and playground activities
• Proper use and care of educational and athletic equipment
• Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
• Basic record-keeping techniques
