Role OverviewThe Instructional Assistant will provide support to students in the Broward County School System by assisting with classroom activities, supervising students, and providing care and supervision. The role plays a vital part in the instructional process of an individualized program of education. The assistant will work under the direct supervision of a teacher and perform various tasks to enhance the instructional process.
What You Will Do
The main responsibilities of the Instructional Assistant include working under the supervision of a teacher, providing classroom-related clerical support, preparing and using instructional materials, engaging in general housekeeping activities, and assisting with lunchroom activities. The assistant will also supervise small group discussions, assist individual students, and perform daily living activities.
Why It Might Be a Fit
To be successful in this role, you should have the ability to interact and communicate effectively with children, possess computer skills, and have a standard high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include successful completion of a teaching assisting curriculum or a passing score on the ParaPro Test.
