Role Overview

The Instructional Assistant will provide classroom supports that enhance the instructional process, assist with lunchroom activities, and supervise students throughout the school. They will work under the direct supervision of a teacher and perform various tasks to ensure the safety and welfare of students.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Instructional Assistant include providing clerical support, preparing instructional materials, supervising students, and assisting with lunchroom activities. They will also assist with nap and rest periods, provide care for children, and perform daily living activities.

To be a fit for this role, you should have the ability to interact and communicate effectively with children, possess computer skills, and be able to follow federal and state, as well as School Board policies. Bilingual skills are also preferred.

Requirements

  • A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Education Development (GED) testing program

  • Computer skills required as needed for the position
