Role OverviewThe Instructional Assistant will provide classroom supports that enhance the instructional process, working under the direct supervision of a teacher. The role involves providing care and supervision to students, assisting with daily living activities, and performing various tasks to support the teacher and students. This position is part of the Broward County School System, and the Instructional Assistant will work in a school setting, interacting with teachers, students, and other personnel. The role requires effective communication and interaction with children, as well as computer skills and the ability to follow safety rules and procedures.
What You Will Do
The Instructional Assistant will perform various tasks, including working under the supervision of a teacher to create instructional materials, providing classroom-related clerical support, preparing and using instructional materials, engaging in general housekeeping activities, assisting with lunchroom activities, supervising nap and rest periods, and providing care for children when the teacher is not present. The role also involves assisting individual students as assigned by the teacher, utilizing programs with groups of students, and performing daily living activities such as assisting with personal hygiene, mobility assistance, and behavioral assistance.

Requirements
