Role Overview

The Instructional Delivery Specialist I works collaboratively with stakeholders to design, develop, and conceptualize inter-directorate and intra-office curricula. The incumbent must have basic experience working in positions of leadership and/or management, and training or experience in applying best practices in instructional methodologies. The Instructional Specialist maintains proficiency in the instruction of all created materials while working closely with other program offices and subject matter experts.

What You Will Do

The incumbent will complete self-paced comprehensive study by mastering all courses in designated discipline and other TSE topics to teach multiple training topics covering at least 5 instructional days of course materials within 12 months of hire. The incumbent will also evaluate instructors for certification evaluation program, participate in every facet of the instructional design process, and support course evaluations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with a concentration in adult learning, education, or curriculum development, and 2+ years of professional experience working in a collaborative environment in instructor and leadership curriculum design and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in adult learning, education, or curriculum development
  • 2+ years of professional experience working in a collaborative environment in instructor and leadership curriculum design and development
  • 2+ years of experience in public speaking, delivering briefings, or instructing in formal learning environments
  • 1+ year of experience in supporting Department of State installations (desired)
  • Basic knowledge in leadership training and best practices
  • Basic knowledge level and experience working in all five phases of the Instructional Systems Design model and creating assessments (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, high attention to detail, self-starter, results-driven, and ability to follow through on details
  • Demonstrated skill of shifting approach in response to the demands of changing situations
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and design skills to develop training course materials
  • Professional proficiency in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint applications
