Insurance Verifier/Financial Counselor

The Insurance Verifier/Financial Counselor will contact health plan carriers to obtain eligibility information, assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage, and coordinate payment for scheduled/elective services. They will provide excellent customer service, manage insurance-related queries, and prepare reports on insurance verification activities.

What You Will Do

The primary function of the Insurance Verifier/Financial Counselor is to contact health plan carriers to obtain eligibility information, assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage, and coordinate payment for scheduled/elective services. They will also collect payments, discuss payment arrangements, create estimates, and advise patients on their insurance benefits and coverages.

Requirements

• Minimum two years' experience in hospital admissions or billing setting
• Well-versed in authorization processes for all payers
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and collaborate within a team environment
• Ability to maintain good working relationships

• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required
