Role OverviewWe are seeking an Interim In-House Counsel to join our team. The successful candidate will independently manage complex legal matters and provide practical guidance to university leadership and internal stakeholders.
What You Will Do
The role involves advising on a broad range of institutional matters, researching and analyzing complex legal and regulatory questions, drafting and reviewing agreements, and assisting with disputes and litigation.

Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership
- Approximately 8–11 years of relevant legal experience
- Experience handling sophisticated legal matters in an in-house, higher education, nonprofit, healthcare, government, or similarly complex institutional setting
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent legal judgment and provide practical, risk-conscious advice
- Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with internal stakeholders and external counsel
