Role OverviewThe Young Life Africa communications team tells the stories of what Jesus is doing in and through the mission of Young Life in Africa. This position will work remotely with Divisional Communications Managers in Africa South and Africa West as well as with communications colleagues in the U.S. The role requires travel of up to six weeks/year, strong English writing skills, speaking, teaching, and digital skills, as well as strong virtual and in-person collaboration skills.
What You Will Do
Source and edit blog posts and other ministry stories to post on the Young Life Africa website. Assist with monthly Habari Gani (ministry update) emails. Edit and review camp stories submitted by Young Life Africa/Middle East field staff to Young Life Africa/Middle East operational database.

Candidate must be a self-starter and have a strong desire to lead and grow, with a particular emphasis on a growth mindset. Critical thinking skills are a must. Fluency in English is required, and fluency in either Swahili, Amharic, or Arabic is a bonus.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or enrolled in an accredited program with less than one year until graduation, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in journalism and writing preferred
- Experience with social media preferred
- Photography and videography skills helpful
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of and passion for Young Life Africa/Middle East
- Experience with Canva and Adobe helpful
