Role Overview

This FULL-TIME OPS position is with the Economic Self Sufficiency Program Customer Service Centers and will be responsible for interviewing applicants to determine type of services and public assistance needs, both over the phone and in person and assisting customers in the Service Center Lobbies.

What You Will Do

Some of the duties of the Interviewing Clerk include explanation of eligibility of applicants and recipients for public assistance programs, determining eligibility for expedited food stamp services, entering client data into database based on intake of caller information, maintaining necessary files and records, and completing general clerical duties.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will be bi-lingual and able to speak, read and write in Spanish/English or Creole/English language, with excellent communication skills and the ability to detect and evaluate potential fraudulent situations.

Requirements

  • high school diploma or its equivalent
  • two years of clerical or public contact experience
  • bi-lingual and able to speak, read and write in Spanish/English or Creole/English language
