Job Description
The New York City Police Department's Legal Bureau is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Investigator for their Body-Worn Camera Unit as well as their Subpoena Litigation Unit. The Investigators will be responsible for analyzing and intaking requests for NYPD body-worn camera footage, utilizing various NYPD systems to process and investigate requests, examining responsive footage and applying appropriate redactions, and reporting results to unit supervisors. Additionally, Investigators will analyze and intake subpoenas, court orders, and outside agency requests for NYPD records, and examine responsive records and apply appropriate redactions.

Requirements

  • Permanent Investigator title or passed civil service exam, Exam No. 2083
  • Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two years of satisfactory, full-time experience as an investigator
  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college
