Role Overview

This hands-on leadership role will focus on stabilizing and strengthening patent prosecution support operations, improving docket integrity and workflow controls, and coaching support staff.

What You Will Do

Assess and stabilize patent prosecution, docketing, intake, and legal support workflows, train and coach support staff, review and streamline existing SOPs, workflows, trackers, and reporting tools.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in patent prosecution, IP operations, docketing, or related legal support, strong hands-on knowledge of U.S. patent prosecution and USPTO docketing, and experience with IP docketing systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in patent prosecution, IP operations, docketing, or related legal support
  • Prior management, supervision, or department-level ownership of an IP support or docketing function
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of U.S. patent prosecution and USPTO docketing
  • Experience with PCT, foreign prosecution, deadline calculation/verification, filings, IDS administration, assignments, declarations, and powers of attorney
  • Experience with docket QC, matter intake, matter closing/transfer, and prosecution reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to train staff and improve workflows, SOPs, and quality controls
  • Experience with IP docketing systems such as AppColl, FoundationIP, CPI, Anaqua, IPfolio, PATTSY, Patricia, or Memotech
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
