Role OverviewAssist journeyman in the planning, lay-out, installation, assembly and erection of steel components in accordance with plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. May help erect metal storage tanks and assemble prefabricated metal buildings.
What You Will Do
Use hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and erect steel and install all other related items in accordance with plans and specifications. Participate in all safety related processes and programs as requested.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must have experience working as an ironworker or similar craft as a helper or laborer, and a basic knowledge of the Ironworker craft. Ability to understand and follow directions.
Requirements
- NCCER Construction Craft Laborer NCCER Core Curriculum or equivalent Craft Training Program
- Experience working as an ironworker or similar craft as a helper or laborer
- Basic knowledge of the Ironworker craft
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Must have all necessary tools (see Ironworker tool list)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
