Role OverviewThis is journeyman level work responsible for preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on all of the County vehicles and equipment. The position includes an annual clothing allowance of $150 and a monthly tool allowance of $100. The typical work schedule is Monday - Thursday 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, with additional overtime hours may be required.
What You Will Do
Repairs automotive and heavy construction equipment, including gasoline and diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic, air cooling, and pneumatic systems. Performs diagnostic tests, dismantles and repairs internal combustion engines, transmissions, pumps, and other equipment. Changes lubricants and filters, and performs other preventive maintenance functions.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The position requires certification to service or repair A/C systems and perform heavy duty opacity diesel emissions. On call during snow season, providing mechanical support to snow removal operations in shop and sometimes in the field.
