Role Overview

The Junior Software Specialist/Engineer will work in the Defense Systems Sector at Leidos, contributing to the AEWTTR mission by providing engineering support for design, modification, and maintenance of ground radar and associated devices for the Navy’s Aircrew Electronic Warfare (EW) training capability. The team solves complex problems and supports customers in the defense of the nation.

What You Will Do

The Junior Software Specialist/Engineer will work closely with a team of engineers and scientists using C++ and Python to solve problems in various disciplines. Responsibilities include writing software to solve problems, creating design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation, and communicating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent engineering or science degree
  • around 2 years of relevant software development experience
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a DOD secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Intermediate ability with C++/Python
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git
  • Prior experience with Engineering Software
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in Ridgecrest, California

Benefits

  • Pay Range: $69,550.00 - $125,725.00
