Role Overview

Join a dynamic team working on software development/maintenance to improve aircraft runway and terminal congestion. The role involves working on the FAA Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program, a Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) NextGen program. The team uses object-oriented design and development in C++/Java on a UNIX/Linux platform.

What You Will Do

Maintain FAA air traffic control display software, perform software development for the TFDM system, provide support for system engineering, and develop the design for the user interface framework.

The ideal candidate will have experience in object-oriented design and development, version control tools, and UNIX/Linux operating systems. Familiarity with the FAA air traffic domain and willingness to travel to customer sites are also desired.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in object-oriented design and development in C++ and Java
  • Experience in following a documented Software Development Process
  • Experience using version control tools such as Git, Subversion or CVS
  • Experience in use of the UNIX and Linux operating systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Suitability
