Job Description
Role Overview

Responsible for supervising and instructing workers in the care and custody of youth, ensuring a safe and secure environment, and performing administrative functions. Maintains a valid Driver License and reports any change to his/her supervisor within 72 hours. Coordinates, directs, and monitors daily workload for the facility, staff, and youth.

What You Will Do

Makes daily routine inspections of detention facility, prepares evaluations, special behavior reports, floor logs, and youth folders, and initiates and executes disciplinary actions in accordance with approved policies and procedures.

Requires ability to supervise staff and youth, physically handle and interact with violent youth, and work overtime hours to ensure staff coverage and maintain security.

Requirements

  • Be at least 19 years of age
  • Be a high school graduate or its equivalent
  • Not have been convicted of any felony or a misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement
  • Abide by all provisions of s. 985.644 (1), regarding fingerprinting and background investigations and other screening requirements for personnel
