What You Will Do
You’ll lead language instruction that builds confidence, communication, and cultural understanding. As a K-5 Spanish Language Teacher, you will: plan and deliver standards-aligned K-5 world language instruction grounded in the ACTFL World-Readiness Standards and the North Carolina World Language Essential Standards.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the target language of the role, World Languages, Linguistics, Education, or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) teaching license in the target world language (K–12) — Initial Professional License (IPL), Continuing Professional License (CPL), or Residency License — OR eligibility to obtain through an approved NC alternative licensure pathway
- Passing score on the NCSBE-approved Pearson content licensure exam for the target world language (per NCDPI policy LICN-003), or willingness to attempt within the first year and pass by the third year of an IPL
- Demonstrated proficiency in the target language at the Advanced-Low level or higher on the ACTFL OPI — or at the Intermediate-High level for non-Roman-alphabet languages (preferred for instructional effectiveness, even where not state-required)
- Ability to pass a North Carolina criminal history background check pursuant to N.C.G.S. §§ 115C-218.90 and 115C-332
- Documentation of a negative TB skin test (or chest X-ray) as required by the school's health policies
- Commitment to the school's mission, values, and high expectations for all scholars
