Role OverviewThe K–8 Math Director is a systems-level instructional leader responsible for driving math achievement across all K–8 campuses within the KIPP Memphis network. This role sets the vision for rigorous, standards-aligned math instruction; builds the instructional capacity of teachers and school-based leaders; and ensures that data, curriculum, and intervention systems work together to accelerate student learning.
What You Will Do
Coach teachers and instructional leaders on rigorous math practices, model lessons, co-plan, and provide real-time, actionable feedback to build instructional capacity across campuses; support high-quality curriculum implementation across all K–8 campuses, ensuring fidelity to adopted materials while allowing for responsive, student-centered adaptations.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with a strong track record of student achievement in mathematics
- Prior experience coaching or leading adults (teachers, coaches, or instructional leaders)
- Experience teaching in the secondary space or leading/coaching teachers in a secondary setting strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of K–8 math content and standards-aligned instructional practices
- Experience using student data to drive instructional decisions
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
