Kinder Co-Teacher - IDEA Elsa Academy

IDEA Early Childhood Co-Teachers support Tier 1 instruction in grades Prekindergarten-Grade 2 and targeted intervention under the direction of the lead teacher. Co-Teachers actively facilitate small-group learning, provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, and help cultivate joyful, engaging learning environments where all students can thrive.

What You Will Do

Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teachers, support Tier 1 core instruction, actively facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups, and communicate students’ progress with student and family on a weekly basis.

Requirements

• At least 48 college hours required or bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
• 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting
• Basic knowledge of early childhood development and instructional practices
• Ability to work with young learners to support whole-group, small-group, and individual learning
• Ability to adapt to diverse learner needs
• Ability to provide clear directions, engage students, and respond to student behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
