Job Description
The Nutrition Assistant is responsible for assisting the Nutrition Manager in the kitchen, ensuring customers' food allergies are known and safely supported, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.

Requirements

  • Ensure customers' food allergies are known and safely supported.
  • Participate in the food preparation and cooking process.
  • Assist Nutrition Manager to monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments.
  • Ensure the organization and sanitation of the kitchen, serving area, and dining room.
  • Receive and store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure food security and proper security of potentially harmful equipment and chemicals.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of freezers/refrigerators and pantry storage.
  • Follow a monthly menu created by the Nutrition Manager
  • Receive feedback on food from the population served and assist in adapting the menu.
  • Ensure food service-related equipment is kept in good working order and is regularly maintained.
  • Know their population being served.
  • Assist the Nutrition Manager in other duties as needed.
