Requirements

  • Prioritize incoming specimens and process patient specimens in accordance with department safety and OSHA guidelines.
  • Draw blood samples from patients based on physicians' orders and in accordance with departmental safety and OSHA guidelines.
  • Generate and attach labels to specimen/blood samples and perform specimen processing and aliquoting according to pre-established test requirements.
  • Accurately enter and review laboratory test data in the laboratory computer system and detect and correct errors according to laboratory policies and quality standards.
