Role OverviewThe Laboratory Clerk processes the delivery of all incoming laboratory specimens, including registration, order entry, and receipt of laboratory samples into the LIS system. They also deliver specimens to the Analytical area of the lab for Medical Technologist to complete testing. Clerical staff members are responsible for pre-employment laboratory processing of all LCMH employees and pre-op laboratory services. They also complete daily temperature and disinfection checks and provide customer service representation.
What You Will Do
Registers patients in the laboratory computer accurately and timely, obtains patient demographic information, orders laboratory tests accurately, receives specimens into the laboratory computer system, collects LCMH pre-employment drug screens, keeps patient files, faxes results to physicians, and answers the telephone and provides information or relays messages to appropriate personnel.

Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience preferred. Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and an in-depth knowledge of specimen collection tools and techniques required.
