Job Summary:
Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. CWT is looking for a bright, hard-working lab technician to join our dynamic research and development team. This role is responsible for execution of laboratory work in the development of new products and reformulation efforts across a variety of product lines including adhesives, sealants, coatings, water/weather proofing, and asphalt systems. Some local travel may be required to support scale up of new products or to address issues with existing products. Once training has been conducted on test methods and equipment the technician is expected to work independently on testing projects and products with minimal supervision by the scientist who assigned the work. The technician is expected to work in a flexible, team environment during performance of these duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Product Testing
Laboratory Project mixing and testing
Operating any necessary lab equipment
Troubleshooting test equipment
Calibration verifications & routine care of equipment
Data Entry and Management
Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
The candidate should have laboratory experience.
Attention to detail required.
Ability to work on multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
Clear and accurate data collection and reporting.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Education and Experience:
Experience in a testing, chemical, quality or mechanical industry.
Education-High school diploma/GED with 5-10 years of experience, A.S. with 3-5 years of experience, B.S. with 0-3 years.
Experience with adhesives or coatings a plus.
Experience with instruments including mixers, viscometers, pH meters, thermal analyzers, FTIR, Instron is desirable.
Working Conditions:
Laboratory and office environment daily.
Occasional visits to manufacturing facilities.
