Role Overview

The Labor Department Adjudications Specialist is responsible for resolving non-monetary unemployment issues in an impartial, timely, and efficient manner. They conduct fact-finding, review and analyze findings, and write decisions and reasoning through application and interpretation of unemployment law.

What You Will Do

The role involves adjudicating cases to determine unemployment eligibility, writing and issuing decisions, and advising claimants of their rights and providing general assistance in filing an appeal.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of technical level experience in counseling, employment placement, veterans employment and training support services, public contact work, human service programs, community action programs, job service, unemployment insurance or employment and training functions.
  • One (1) year as a Labor Department Associate Community Services Representative performing basic fact-finding examination in unemployment insurance.
  • College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
