Role Overview

The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking a Labor Relations Officer 2 to lead investigations into reported cases and complaints, assist in grievance hearings, and provide primary administrative support for labor relations activities. The role requires collaboration with the HR team and maintaining accurate documentation. The position is part of the Human Resources Division and is responsible for ensuring the agency's labor relations processes remain current and effective.

The ideal candidate will have 24 months of experience in collective bargaining, labor relations, and handling grievances. Alternatively, completion of an undergraduate core program in human resources management or public or business administration with coursework in human resources or labor relations is also acceptable. The position requires strong technical skills in labor relations, attention to detail, confidentiality, critical thinking, verbal communication, and written communication.

Requirements

  • 24 months of experience in collective bargaining, labor relations, and handling grievances
  • Completion of an undergraduate core program in human resources management or public or business administration with coursework in human resources or labor relations
  • 12 months of experience as Labor Relations Officer 1, 63471
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment
