Laboratory Applications and Billing Specialist

Requirements

• Adheres to all company policies
• Regular and dependable attendance
• Follows core competencies set forth by the Company
• Helps monitor and maintain databases in lab systems
• Helps process incoming Lab Support inquiries
• Develops and tests rules in laboratory test environments
• Maintains and promulgates routing and billing rules in COPIA
• Audits laboratory send out bills for accuracy and completeness
• Answers coding questions for laboratory personnel
• Researches clinical utility and cost of esoteric tests
• Answers patient calls regarding laboratory billing questions
• Assists with updating computer system
• Identifies opportunities to reduce laboratory send out costs
• Works with Central Billing and Coding Quality departments
• Trains new laboratory personnel
• Updates CPL of provider changes
• Set up doctors and employees in LIS
• Assist with interface issues
• Assists with special projects as assigned
• Travels for laboratory hardware assessments and testing
• Performs other duties as assigned
