Laboratory Compliance Specialist

Requirements

• Performs testing and monitors the quality control program, IQCP, proficiency, and maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Prepares and submits quality assurance reports for events and/or outliers to the laboratory director for review/approval.
• Follows accreditation standards, regulatory agency requirements, and institutional policies regarding bloodborne pathogens, internal/external disaster policy, infection control, chemical hygiene, fire, and electrical safety.
• Audits personnel records for compliance with the accreditation agency.
• Provides training and competency assessment for non-lab staff POC testing.
• Sets up, operates, monitors, and/or utilizes appropriate equipment, instruments, containers, and other devices and materials to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of substances.
• Joins meetings and huddles as assigned by the laboratory director.
• Participates in interviews.
• Follows manufacturers' requirements for validation of new equipment or troubleshooting existing equipment.
• Ensures all validations have been performed, per accreditation requirements, before go-live.
• Handles all laboratory IT tickets that pertain to our LIS.
• Generate and document data for daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annually, and yearly QA Program, laboratory reports, and OKCIC reports.
• Handles the laboratory schedule.
• Attends laboratory seminars annually.
• Performs phlebotomy and/or testing, if needed.
