Role Overview

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid, or gaseous materials. The role involves operating laboratory equipment, testing samples, and analyzing results. The technician will work in a dynamic environment, following company safety procedures and quality guidelines.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include operating laboratory equipment, testing samples, analyzing results, preparing chemical solutions, and recognizing and investigating suspect test results. The technician may also work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays, and be available to work on an on-call basis.

Requirements

  • One to three years related experience and/or training
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees
  • Ability to execute basic algebra as it applies to the role
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
