Role Overview

The Laboratory Technician will test and inspect products at various stages of production, maintaining quality and food safety. The role involves conducting inspections, verifying calibrations, and testing raw milk, cream, or rework. The technician will also record and evaluate test data, alerting the Quality Assurance Manager/Supervisor to any deviations from specifications.

What You Will Do

The Laboratory Technician will perform various tasks, including conducting start-up inspections, regular inspections, and inspections after interventions. They will also complete turn packets, verify run rules, and ensure chemicals are fully stocked and operable.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have an associate's degree in Food Science or a related area, with two or more years of related Quality experience. They will also possess basic computer skills, knowledge of laboratory equipment, and good oral and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from a four-year college or university in Food Science or related area
  • Two or more years related Quality experience
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of word processing and spread sheet programs
  • Knowledgeable or ability to learn laboratory equipment commonly used in the food industry
  • Understanding of calibration programs of food testing equipment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
