Job Description
SEARCH is seeking a Lead Archaeologist to join their Terrestrial Archaeology division. The role involves archaeological field work, supporting research design, leading crews of archaeologists, and quality control. This position requires expertise in Southwestern archaeology and a commitment to working within the SEARCH Brand Guidelines.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field.
Completion of an accredited archaeological field school.
Minimum of two (2) years of professional archaeological field experience.
At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in the field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work well on multiple tasks.
Ability to obtain government security clearance.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Experience with archaeological survey, testing, and excavation.
CPR, Lifesaving, Wilderness First Aid, HAZWOPER, or other health and safety training.
Off-road driving training and/or experience.
Geographic presence in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, or New Mexico.
Experience with the Western Archaeological Fieldworking Standards.
Excellent writing and reporting skills.
Ability to maintain data organization and reporting.
