Role Overview

The Lead Behavior Specialist will play a key role in creating safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments where students with diverse behavioral and educational needs can thrive. Working closely with school leadership and the VP of Behavior Services, this position supports the development and implementation of schoolwide, classroom-based, and individualized positive behavior support strategies.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include providing ongoing coaching, technical guidance, and hands-on support to school staff in implementing positive behavior programs, training team members on behavior intervention and instructional strategies, and supporting the completion of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a closely related field of study
  • Valid OH state drivers license
  • Certification in company approved crisis management training
  • Registered behavior technician (RBT) credential highly preferred
  • Prior experience providing behavioral instruction, guidance, and/or support to children
  • Prior experience working under the supervision of a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) in an educational and/or clinical setting
  • Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders, and/or other related disabilities
  • Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA), including functional behavior assessment (FBA), positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS), and behavior intervention plans (BIP's) preferred
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students
  • Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency situation and make independent decisions
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
  • Knowledge of relevant technology, including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment
