Job Description
The Lead CNC Machinist/Programmer is responsible for full layout, fixturing, setup, and programming of multi-tasking CNC lathes and 3–5 axis milling machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements
Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and vertical milling machines (3–5 axis)
Perform full layout and fixturing for components ranging from miniature to large
Write, edit, and troubleshoot manual G-code and M-code programs
Inspect finished parts to ensure tight tolerances and quality standards are met
Select proper tooling and fabricate precision tools and fixturing as needed
Collaborate with design engineers to improve manufacturability of components
Optimize programming, tooling, and fixturing to improve shop efficiency and reduce costs
Provide labor and material estimates from drawings, blueprints, and electronic files
Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot unplanned issues
Research and implement new machining technologies to maintain competitive advantage
