Job Description
The Lead Cook at Clitheroe Men's Residential Center is responsible for providing well-balanced and attractive meal service for a 42-bed residential facility. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalency, three years of cooking experience, and a Food Handlers Card and Serv-Safe certification. The Lead Cook will direct kitchen staff, prepare and serve meals, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Three years of cooking experience, one of which must have been in an institutional setting
  • Food Handlers Card and Serv-Safe certification
  • Alaska driver's license with acceptable criminal history and driving records
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care
  • Ability to maintain a collaborative and cooperative work environment and to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Must be skilled in communication with individuals of varying ethnic and cultural backgrounds
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with peers, supervisors, clients, families, and visitors
  • Ability to assess safety needs and follow standardized safety procedures
