Role Overview

The Lead Developer supports the Smucker Information Services (IS) department by designing, building, and supporting data and integration capabilities that power critical Away From Home (AFH) business processes. This role serves as the technical lead for the Away From Home enterprise integration landscape, partnering with business functions to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions.

What You Will Do

As a Lead Developer, you will lead AFH Data Lake & Integration Solution Delivery, designing and developing scalable cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, APIs, event-driven integrations, and file-based interfaces. You will also lead technical efforts and delivery activities for medium to large projects, build work plans and technical implementation strategies, and create technical solution designs and integration specifications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience as a developer
  • Proficiency with AWS technologies
  • Strong development experience using Python and SQL
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data integrations
  • Experience delivering technical solutions throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience working within formal delivery methodologies
  • Experience troubleshooting complex applications, integration, performance, and data quality issues
  • Proficiency with source control, automated deployment, and CI/CD tools
  • Understanding of data structures, relational databases, data modeling, data transformation, and integration patterns
  • Ability to lead technical activities for medium to large projects
  • Ability to conduct integrated testing, debug solutions, and drive successful implementation and support activities
