Role Overview

The Lead Technician is responsible for the management and leadership of technicians in the Electrical Engineering Lab, supporting power tool systems and subsystems, and executing team and individual test, debug, repair, and rework activities.

You will support sustaining engineering teams through test development, data analysis, root cause investigation, and competitor benchmarking, and serve as the key interface between engineers and technicians.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree from a two-year college or technical school
  • 5+ years of experience with electrical/mechanical principles, test equipment, and product performance/validation test methods
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and complex tasks with minimal oversight
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and PCB layout files in an environment such as Altium
  • Experience working with embedded systems and downloading firmware to target hardware
  • Strong hands-on experience with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and DAQs
  • Experience troubleshooting, reworking, and repairing electronic assemblies and PCBAs
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, exercises independent judgement and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication
