Role Overview

The Lead Engineer is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the engineering activities associated with the design and development of new projects and maintenance of current products. The role involves overseeing teams to ensure project activities are completed within designated QCD targets, providing technical expertise and guidance to other KAC technical personnel, and approving designs and systems using standard Komatsu quality control methods.

What You Will Do

Lead a team of embedded hardware and software engineers, develop and support electronic system requirements and architecture design, and assume project responsibility on assignments by providing planning, technical guidance, and coordination with inside and outside functions.

Requirements

  • BS Degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited university with at least 15 years of work experience in the design of related products
  • Associates degree in a technical field with at least 20 years of work experience in the design of related products
  • 25 years of work experience in the design of related products
  • Strong familiarity with off-highway mobile equipment and application
  • Experience reading C/C++ embedded software
  • Experience with electronic circuit design
  • Experience creating design documentation (Requirements, Specifications, Test Plans)
  • Good communication skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good working knowledge of embedded hardware and software tools for design function
  • Good knowledge of analytical and testing methods and procedures
  • Good working knowledge of failure and root cause analysis
  • Understanding of industry regulatory requirements for electronic designs
