Role OverviewThe Lead Enterprise Data Platform Architect will design, build, and evolve enterprise data platforms supporting digital services, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence initiatives across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership position responsible for establishing reusable, secure, cloud-based data products and shared platform services.

Key responsibilities include defining the target architecture for the Commonwealth's enterprise data platform, developing a multiyear platform roadmap, evaluating emerging technologies, establishing reusable architecture patterns, and promoting API-first and product-based approaches to enterprise information sharing.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Programming, or a related discipline—or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 10+ years of experience building or supporting large-scale cloud data platforms.
- At least seven years of hands-on experience in modern data architecture, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise data platforms that support multiple teams, business units, or organizations.
- Hands-on experience building cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or an equivalent technology.
- Experience implementing modern DevSecOps practices and integrating security throughout the development lifecycle.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud security controls, including IAM, RBAC, encryption, logging, and auditing.
- Experience collaborating with cloud engineering, cybersecurity, CISO, governance, risk, and compliance teams.
- Experience with modern data and cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Containerized applications and services.
