Role OverviewThe Lead Environmental Coordinator oversees and ensures compliance of the City of Dallas with environmental regulations; leads the city’s environmental programs and procedures to prevent environmental pollution and minimize environmental risks.
What You Will Do
Leads extensive auditing and evaluation of air, water, or soil pollutants or other environmental risks for the city and its departments; evaluates and provides professional environmental expertise on pollutants, such as emissions of ozone precursors, particulate emissions, greenhouse gas emissions, water or soil quality indicators, including contaminants, and remediation program management.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Requires six (6) years of experience in coordinating with state and federal environmental agencies or working on pollution prevention/environmental programs addressing potential environmental liabilities in a large municipality or a similar field in a geographically diverse area.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of Stormwater, Zero Waste, Sustainability Conservation Concepts, and Environmental Management Systems
- Thorough knowledge of Federal and State rules, regulations, and standards including ISO 14001
- Knowledge of organic chemistry, related air and water quality, and climate impacts
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- Class B Water Operator license from Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
- Registered Environmental Manager (REM) certification
- HAZWOPER certifications
- Certified Environmental Storm Water Compliance Professional (CESCP) certification
- Boater Certificate
- OSHA 30-hour Safety Certificate
