Job Description
The Lead Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing and overhauling fleet vehicles in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Maintain fleet vehicles with emphasis on Preventative Maintenance programs to meet 100% compliance of standards
  • Assist with scheduling and assigning work to the mechanic or associate mechanic personnel
  • Assess and recommend training needs for the fleet mechanic staff
  • Manage cost control through purchasing, inventory management, and training in the area of safety
  • Maintain weekly cost data information and provide the Regional or Group Fleet manager of the financial status of the shop
  • Uphold the quality of standards of the shop, cleanliness, and comply with OSHA standards
  • Regularly inspect vehicles to ensure that all vehicles meet VESTIS and DOT standards
  • Drive and reinforce quality standards in the shop and follow company workplace conduct policies
