Job Description
The Lead Infection Prevention Coordinator directs and manages the comprehensive infection prevention and control program for Woman's Hospital Main Campus and all hospital-owned entities. The role operates with a high degree of independence and leads the enterprise-wide strategy to prevent healthcare-associated infections, manage outbreaks and exposures, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Louisiana
  • BSN required, MSN preferred
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) through the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) is required or must be obtained within 24 months of hire
  • Membership in APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a registered nurse or Medical Technologist in an acute care hospital setting
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in infection prevention and control required, with demonstrated experience leading program-level initiatives
  • Prior experience leading committees, workgroups, or multi-disciplinary teams is strongly preferred
