Lead Software Engineer, Finance

The finance software team builds and maintains mission-critical applications that power the finance department at SpaceX, ensuring financial systems stay accurate, reliable, and secure as the company scales launch, manufacturing, Starlink, AI, and chip design. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers both technically and from a personnel development perspective, owning the design and evolution of systems that finance depends on every day.

What You Will Do

Directly manage a team of software engineers, own all aspects of a system roadmap including prioritization, implementation, and delivery, provide strong technical leadership with a focus on continuous improvement, manage and track multiple priorities, develop highly reliable and available software systems, and collaborate with other leaders across the company.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline and 3+ years of software development experience; OR 6+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree
• 1+ years of experience with object-oriented programming
• 1+ years of experience with leading software teams or projects
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Must be willing to travel when needed
