Lead Substation Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lead Substation Engineer to join our team at K&A Power Group in New Jersey, remote. What You Will Do

Lead the design and engineering of high voltage substations (up to 500kV), including physical layout, protection & control, grounding, and equipment specifications. Serve as the technical authority for substation engineering deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required); PE license strongly preferred
• 8+ years of substation engineering experience, including leadership or lead engineer responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of high voltage substation design, protection & control, and applicable industry standards
• Experience working with utilities, EPC firms, or large scale power delivery projects
• Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, or similar tools
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to travel for site visits and attend the designated office one day per week
