Role OverviewThe Lead Teacher is responsible for coordinating daily activities in an early learning program and providing a safe and nurturing environment for early childhood-aged children. This is a year-round position that will transition to camp responsibilities during the summer.
What You Will Do
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, manage materials and supplies, develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children, and maintain participant records.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have completed high school or equivalent
- Must meet Child Care Licensing requirements
- Minimum of 240 hours of related experience working with early childhood or school-aged children
- Must be able and willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, Mandated Reporter, Wisconsin Registry certification, and additional non-credit coursework
- Must have a sincere interest and ability to comprehend needs and develop positive outcomes in children from diverse populations
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Exhibit the core values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA
