Job Description
Role Overview

The Legal Assistant III will provide professional legal, administrative, records, and litigation support to the Office of General Counsel (OGC) for a major federal agency. Working in a fast-paced federal legal environment, the Legal Assistant III will support attorneys and OGC personnel with front-office operations, scheduling, legal correspondence, document preparation, case files and records, legal review tracking, research and reference activities, data entry, and court or board submissions.

What You Will Do

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, discretion in handling sensitive information, strong customer-service skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive administrative and legal support to GSA OGC attorneys and staff, maintaining accurate physical and electronic case files, preparing and assembling documents for legal filing, and supporting OGC legal review and concurrence processes.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting federal litigation performing comparable duties
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Edge or comparable Government-authorized web browsers
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace/Google Suite applications
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat DC and/or Foxit PhantomPDF for document preparation and management
  • Ability to use electronic communication and collaboration tools such as Cisco Jabber and Government-designated systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and respond effectively to changing workload requirements
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential, procurement-sensitive, proprietary, and personally identifiable information appropriately
