Role OverviewThe Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking a Legal College Intern for the Office of Collective Bargaining (OCB), which directs the state's labor relations and human resources policy. This role supports the DAS mission to provide innovative solutions and efficient operations for state government partners. The intern will work on-site daily at DAS's office space.
What You Will Do
Perform legal research on specific issues for DAS Office of Collective Bargaining, including researching unfair labor practices, civil service laws, and employment law issues. Analyze and respond to unfair labor practice charges on behalf of state agencies, and read, review, and summarize arbitration awards. Assist in preparing materials and documents for mediation and arbitration, and contact state agencies to answer inquiries.

Requirements
- Must be enrolled & attending an accredited law school
- Knowledge of Ohio Revised Code Chapters 4117 & Ohio Administrative Code 123, 124
- Knowledge of public/human relations
- Knowledge of agency policies & procedures
- Knowledge of Ohio labor, civil service law
- Knowledge of arbitration/mediation & labor relations practices
- Skill in operation of personal computer & related software using Microsoft Office
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in familiar context
- Ability to gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things
