Role Overview

The Legislative Assistant will provide support to Senator Christian in advancing his policy priorities, manage daily operations, and serve as a liaison between the Senator and internal and external parties. The role requires strong organizational skills, customer service skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality. The Legislative Assistant will also be responsible for managing the Senator's legislative calendar, overseeing the legislative office budget, and facilitating communication between the Senator and stakeholders.

What You Will Do

The Legislative Assistant will perform a variety of tasks, including managing daily operations, attending in-district meetings, serving as a liaison between the Senator and internal and external parties, fielding questions from the public, collaborating with caucus communications staff, drafting and reviewing responses to legislative correspondence, and maintaining the Senator's legislative calendar.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree
