Role OverviewThe Paralegal Aide II will function as a Liens & Recovery Paralegal in the Data Control and Litigation Support subunit of the Support and Lien Recovery Litigation Unit (SLRLU). The unit provides litigation services and legal counsel to the Department of Social Services (DSS), the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS), and the Investigation, Revenue and Enforcement Administration (IREA). The Paralegal Aide II will perform routine legal research, compute claims, liens, and coordinates correspondence of lien request for Medicaid and Public Assistance. They will also prepare statistical and narrative reports reflecting the Unit's collection efforts.
What You Will Do
The Paralegal Aide II will perform routine legal research, compute claims, liens, and coordinates correspondence of lien request for Medicaid and Public Assistance. They will also prepare statistical and narrative reports reflecting the Unit's collection efforts. Additionally, they will request and monitor the receipt of Medicaid Claim Detail Reports and Transcripts of Public Assistance, research information on real property, person locators, and other necessary data of Public Assistance and Medicaid, and process checks received as recovery for liens and claims for Medicaid and Recovery.

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, or an associate degree with two years of full-time satisfactory experience in paralegal services. They will also have experience in paralegal services involving the American Legal System. The candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and organizational skills.
