Job Description
The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is seeking a Supervising Special Officer II to function as a Lieutenant within the Shelter Security Management Unit. The role involves exercising full command over DHS Police operations, directing and supervising personnel, leading incident response activities, and developing site-specific security strategies.

Requirements

  • 4-year high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of full-time satisfactory experience in law enforcement, protection, or security
  • Qualification to serve as a Peace Officer and certification
  • One year of experience as a Supervising Special Officer-Assignment Level I or 2 years of experience as a Supervising Special Officer or 2 additional years of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
