Job Description
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a Life Safety Code Surveyor to conduct comprehensive inspections of health care facilities in the Commonwealth, with a focus on regulatory compliance and emergency preparedness.

Requirements

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, including agency officials, staff associates, other employees, providers, vendors, and health care administrators.
  • Skilled in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and decision-making to achieve objectives.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to health, environmental, and fire safety conditions in health care facilities.
  • Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101 Life Safety Code and other related codes/physical environment standards.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the capacity to demonstrate strong interpersonal, interviewing, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
