Role OverviewThe Lifeguard position creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining a safe swimming environment in the pool, deck and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
What You Will Do
Maintain current CPR, First Aid, and other required YMCA certifications, ensure safety of all participants in the aquatics area, and adhere to Blood borne Pathogen standards.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions, and be willing and able to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect.
Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification
- YMCA Lifeguard certification
- WSI certification (a plus)
- Ability to read, write, and understand written directions
- Demonstrate commitment to the mission, cause of the YMCA, and uphold its values and ethics
